Sample Handler

Responsibilities

• Management of samples from receiving, internal distribution through lab testing to dispatch dispositioning using database software and basic Microsoft programs such as MS Word and Excel.
• Checking samples against sample requirements and raising any issues to Project team.
• Ensuring samples are managed within quality processes and in compliance with UL Quality and accreditation process requirements.
• Working with teams to ensure samples are ready and available for testing and stored in the correct location.
• Communicating and guiding internal customers on sample return via phone and email.
• Supporting laboratory, engineering, and shipping/receiving teams.
• Maintaining an organized, safe, clean, and productive work area.
• Conducting periodic inventories of sample storage areas.
• Reporting any lost, missing, or damaged samples and assisting in the research and resolution.
• Supporting staff as directed and assisting in the development of training as necessary.
• Maintaining an organized, safe, clean, and productive work area.
• May assist in the development or creation of reports and metrics as necessary.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Ability to operate equipment associated with material handling, including forklift operation.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to work with hand and small power tools such as saws and drills in a safe manner.
• Physical demands include standing, reaching, stooping/bending, walking, and lifting/carrying objects up to 60 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
