About the role

Eurofins Scientific is a network of independent companies providing analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries, ensuring products are safe, ingredients are authentic, and labeling is accurate. Eurofins Environment Testing operates over 50 laboratories nationwide, offering comprehensive environmental analysis for air, water, soil, sediment, tissue, and waste, including PFAS, metals, VOCs/SVOCs, dioxins/furans, and radiochemicals. This role supports public and private clients—including DoD, DOE, and municipalities—through robust logistics and sample management.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations; verifies receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), matches it to the corresponding quote, and notes discrepancies daily.
  • Verifies that COCs are accurate, complete, and correct; seeks resolution for discrepancies.
  • Logs samples into the Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking and distributes paperwork to Project Managers.
  • Labels samples for identification by lot number and delivers them to appropriate labs for analysis daily.
  • Prepares bottle kits daily for client sample collection, ensuring compliance with EPA and DOT requirements.
  • Forwards samples to other laboratories in accordance with DOT regulations for tests not performed locally.
  • Disposes of spent samples, waste, and hazardous materials following established procedures.
  • Monitors freezer and cooler temperatures daily to ensure compliance with SOP guidelines.
  • Cleans and organizes the department daily to promote a safe work environment and operational efficiency.
  • Maintains and promotes safety; conducts all operations in an environmentally compliant manner.
  • Stocks and manages inventory daily to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Performs sample splits and composites as requested.
  • May perform courier duties, including sample pickups and deliveries, in compliance with company driver policies.
  • Must be willing to be on-call during non-business hours for non-routine sampling and delivery.
  • Assists in maintaining walk-in coolers to facilitate sample location.
  • Ships empty coolers back to clients and other Eurofins laboratories; logs all outgoing coolers for inventory tracking.
  • Maintains company vehicles used for sample pickups and deliveries.
  • Conducts client interactions in a professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by local management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate may be required for shipping hazardous chemicals within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background check for company driver certification.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card and TSA clearance may be required within 90 days of hire.
  • Additional client or location-specific licenses or certifications may be required.
  • May drive for long periods, up to 8 hours per day.

Schedule

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Compensation range: $16–$20 per hour, based on experience.
