About the role
The Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role covering and growing a territory in and around Rapid City, Deadwood, Lead, Pierre, Gillette, and Spearfish, South Dakota (SD).
Responsibilities
- Grow the Business:
- Identify key accounts within territory and establish a route.
- Develop and implement in-salon promotions, programs, and concepts.
- Determine customers' needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.
- Communicate sales initiatives through partnerships with vendors.
- Analyze accounts to decide on brand support, education, and promotions.
- Call on customers in person to achieve sales goals.
- Respond to customer communications promptly (within 24 hours).
- Manage Customers:
- Manage administrative tasks including order entry and customer information updates.
- Prospect for new customers through various digital and traditional methods.
- Attract and retain salon clientele through social media.
- Conduct product knowledge classes and communicate with Manager.
- Build Team and Culture:
- Share knowledge with peers to enhance digital capabilities.
- Attend meetings, functions, and events.
- Support new initiatives with a growth mindset.
- Foster change management throughout the team.
- Grow Yourself:
- Participate in business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge.
- Allocate and optimize time for learning and professional development.
- Stay informed about the industry and market trends.
- Create an organized work environment and workflow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 1 year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with consultative selling emphasis.
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle.
- Experience with iPad.
- Strong social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Ability to drive and perform physical activities related to the role.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
