Qualifications

• Principal licensure
• Administrative experience - minimum 5 years preferred
• Teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
• Works collaboratively with agencies, including Division of Early Childhood, Arkansas Department of Education, Arkansas Better Chance, and Child Care Development Fund
• Creates a personalized and motivating learning environment for students
• Supervises instruction
• Develops the instructional and leadership capacity of staff
• Maximizes time spent on quality instruction
• Makes decisions based on data analysis
• Oversees the application and selection process for eligible students
• Coordinates activities of their school with activities of other schools in the system
• Obtains, allocates, aligns, and utilizes efficiently human, fiscal, and technological resources equitably
• Secures necessary substitutes for school personnel
• Interviews and recommends staff
• Maintains a safe and healthy environment for students and staff
• Ensures teacher and organizational time is focused to support quality instruction and student learning
• Assists in writing state and federal grants to support the preschool programming and school readiness
• Provides accurate and timely data to assess the overall impact and effectiveness of the preschool program in the district
• Promotes understanding, appreciation, and use of the community's diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources
• Builds and sustains positive relationships with families and caregivers
• Builds and sustains productive relationships with community partners
• Safeguards the values of democracy, equity, and diversity
• Promotes social justice and ensures that individual student needs inform all aspects of schools

Requirements

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

Supervises: Assistant principals, teachers, and classified staff assigned to principal's building

Benefits

Terms Of Employment: Pre-School/Elementary Principal - The contract length will be 220 days. The salary schedule will be A & J.

Pay

Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
