Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of Salesforce solutions for nonprofit clients, leveraging Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP, and Data Cloud.
  • Conduct discovery workshops with organizational leaders to define business needs across fundraising, donor management, program delivery, and volunteer/constituent engagement.
  • Translate functional requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs.
  • Oversee configuration, data modeling, and integration design with fundraising, finance, and third-party systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, QuickBooks, Mailchimp).
  • Guide teams through implementation best practices and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
  • Support pre-sales efforts with solution design input and scoping for Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Developers to ensure delivery excellence across timelines and budgets.
  • Stay current on Salesforce innovations, particularly in the Nonprofit and Data Cloud ecosystems.
  • Mentor consultants and contribute to internal solution frameworks and accelerators.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Salesforce implementation and solution architecture experience, with at least 3+ years focused on the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven expertise in Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP, and related products (Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, CRM Analytics).
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit operations and the constituent lifecycle (fundraising, donor retention, program and impact management).
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with fundraising, finance, and engagement systems such as Raiser's Edge, QuickBooks, or Mailchimp.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with a proven ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
  • Salesforce certifications preferred (Application Architect, Nonprofit Cloud Consultant, or Data Cloud Consultant).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience designing Data Cloud or AI-driven solutions for nonprofit clients.
    • Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to nonprofits (PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR).
    • Experience supporting pre-sales or participating in technical scoping.
    • Familiarity with AppExchange solutions commonly used by nonprofits (e.g., FormAssembly, Blackthorn, Classy, Fonteva).
