About the role
The Salesforce Solution Architect will lead the design of scalable, secure, and well-integrated solutions across our Salesforce platform in a hybrid Microsoft–Salesforce enterprise environment. This role translates business priorities into end-to-end solution designs across Salesforce and adjacent platforms, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Dataverse, ERP, and other systems of record. The architect will help evolve the platform in ways that improve business agility, maintain architectural integrity, and enable responsible AI adoption. This is a hands-on architecture leadership role requiring practical implementation depth, not just oversight. Will bring strong Salesforce development experience and can translate architecture into working solutions and proof-of-concept prototypes when needed. Will set design direction, define technical standards, guide integration patterns, and serve as a trusted advisor to delivery teams, product owners, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Architecture
- Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related capabilities aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Apply hands-on implementation experience across Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, integrations, and deployment patterns.
- Define data models, object relationships, security and sharing models, and automation strategies using appropriate declarative and programmatic tools.
- Make and document architecture decisions including build vs buy, configure vs customize, and declarative vs code trade-offs.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate technical and integration approaches, UX assumptions, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Produce architecture artifacts such as solution design documents, data flows, sequence diagrams, integration specifications, and technical decision records.
- Integration & Platform Interoperability
- Architect integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems including Microsoft 365, Azure, Dataverse, ERP platforms, and systems of record.
- Define API and service design standards for consistent consumption across developers, integrations, automation, and AI solutions.
- Establish integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, batch) and evaluate middleware or orchestration tools with focus on resilience and cost.
- Design integration boundaries that reduce coupling and simplify system evolution.
- AI & Intelligent Platform Capabilities
- Design AI-enabled capabilities using Salesforce tools (Agentforce, Einstein) and ensure interoperability with Microsoft AI ecosystems (Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure OpenAI).
- Apply experience with external AI tools (e.g., Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) in solution design.
- Define safe and controlled interaction patterns for AI agents, including access to trusted data and API boundaries.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to define AI governance guardrails including data exposure, identity, auditability, and prompt risk controls.
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and define practical engineering standards for responsible adoption.
- Governance, Security & Quality
- Define and enforce platform standards including environment strategy, release processes, naming conventions, and technical debt management.
- Embed security principles such as least privilege, identity and access management, and data protection into all designs.
- Lead architecture and design reviews across Salesforce development, integrations, and automated testing.
- Monitor platform health considerations including API usage, licensing impact, and long-term supportability.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, delivery leads, and enterprise architects to translate strategy into solution roadmaps.
- Communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and risks to technical and executive audiences.
- Mentor developers, administrators, and emerging architects to improve overall technical maturity.
