About Our Client
This organization operates within the Go-To-Market (GTM) and revenue systems space, addressing challenges related to integrating and optimizing Salesforce and related platforms to improve scalability, data integrity, user experience, and operational efficiency. It focuses on solving friction points and technical debt within revenue lifecycle processes by delivering sustainable, scalable technology solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.
About the Opportunity
The Salesforce & GTM Applications Technical Lead is responsible for leading the design, integration, and continuous improvement of complex Salesforce and GTM system solutions. This role is critical in managing the Salesforce CPQ lifecycle, overseeing technical strategies, and driving cross-functional initiatives that enhance system scalability and business process efficiency. The position requires autonomous leadership and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure alignment of technology solutions with business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own the Salesforce CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) domain architecture end to end, overseeing product catalog setup, pricing engines, guided selling workflows, renewals, and root-cause issue resolution
- Act as the primary technical subject matter expert and strategic decision-maker for enterprise CPQ process design, platform capabilities, and long-term release roadmaps
- Apply advanced technical judgment to design, evaluate, and select optimal application architectures across Salesforce core clouds and connected GTM systems
- Proactively identify, analyze, and remediate process friction, underlying technical debt, and system operational risks across the revenue tech stack
- Design highly scalable, forward-looking system solutions using a strategic balance of native configuration, advanced automation, APIs, and custom development
- Lead and execute complex Salesforce administrative configurations, platform enhancements, and security architecture updates
- Formulate objective trade-off analyses to evaluate low-code solutions versus custom-coded developments based on scalability, maintenance overhead, and platform limits
- Translate ambiguous, cross-functional business requirements into highly sustainable, auditable, and documented technical system designs
- Architect and support seamless data integrations and transactional flows between Salesforce and downstream GTM applications (e.g., ERP, billing systems, or customer success tools)
- Troubleshoot complex data synchronizations, downstream movement anomalies, and integration endpoint failures
- Lead end-to-end system initiatives from initial discovery and intake through deployment and post-launch hypercare support
- Cook up user acceptance testing (UAT), release management readiness, automated platform monitoring, and structural technical documentation
- Partner collaboratively with executive stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product teams to align engineering solutions with broader business objectives
- Lead cross-functional delivery teams through influence, communicating project priorities, technical scope, and architectural risks effectively
- Advise on enterprise-level GTM system governance, sandbox strategies, deployment pipelines, and environment management best practices
- Support organizational change management, end-user adoption efforts, and technical training delivery for major platform rollouts
- Stay ahead of emerging Salesforce capabilities, native Flow automation upgrades, AI-driven CRM tools, and modern industry ecosystems
- Contribute directly to the overarching business systems strategy to promote technical simplification, platform sustainability, and operational scale
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of progressive professional experience in Salesforce administration, business systems engineering, revenue operations, or technical solution delivery
- At least 3 years of dedicated experience managing complex revenue systems architectures, explicitly including Salesforce CPQ, within a B2B SaaS or highly structured commercial environment
- Deep structural knowledge of core Salesforce CPQ concepts, including product bundling, block pricing, discount schedules, contract renewals, amendment lifecycles, and advanced quote calculation sequences
- Demonstrated history of successfully leading complex, multi-stakeholder, cross-functional CRM initiatives from inception to global rollout
- Strong technical analytical skills with a proven ability to architect solutions that balance immediate business demands with long-term platform health
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of confidently articulating technical risk, architectural options, and trade-offs to non-technical business leaders
- Preferred: Formal Salesforce certifications (such as Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist, Certified Platform App Builder, or Certified Advanced Administrator) are highly preferred
- Prior experience working with modern deployment and DevOps tools (e.g., Copado, Gearset, or GitHub Actions) in a Salesforce environment is a plus
