Sales Trainee - Raleigh, NC

Under general supervision, this position develops industry‑specific knowledge and experience required for promotion to an Outside Sales Representative role. The role may rotate through various departments to observe, learn, and perform responsibilities, acquiring industry knowledge, functional processes, practices, and sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop industry‑specific knowledge and experience needed for promotion to Outside Sales Representative.
• Rotate through various departments (yard operations, production, dispatch/scheduling/delivery, inside sales) to observe, learn, and perform duties.
• Receive training and perform progressively responsible duties in each area while learning the outside sales role.
• Accompany Outside Sales Representatives or Sales Manager on customer calls to learn effective sales and customer‑service techniques.
• Handle inside‑sales/counter responsibilities, including answering phones, taking orders, and related tasks.
• Perform outside‑sales duties such as take‑offs, processing orders, obtaining signatures on tickets, and making sales calls to new and existing customers.

Requirements

• Minimum education: High School diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field + 0–2 years of related industry operations or sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
