Sales Team Manager (on-site)
About the Role
Bish Enterprises, a family-owned agricultural equipment business, is seeking an energetic Sales Manager to lead our small but dedicated sales team. This multifaceted role involves driving customer acquisition, increasing revenue growth, and overseeing direct sales efforts. You will collaborate with upper management and our marketing team to devise strategic sales and marketing plans, manage the marketing budget, and ensure campaigns align with our brand identity. The role requires direct involvement in day-to-day sales while providing coaching, guidance, and accountability to the sales team. As the primary contact for sales-related issues, proactive problem-solving skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining price schedules and discount rates
- Identify shipping issues through direct involvement to improve invoice clarity, efficiency, productivity, and safety
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and budget expenditures
- Collaborate across departments to promote a free flow of information and ideas
- Communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates regarding contracts, advertising media, or products
- Coordinate and manage sales activities
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and document operational records
- Ensure all customers, internal and external, are kept informed of issues while promoting superior customer service
- Manage and provide leadership to the sales team
- Monitor customer preferences to determine sales focus
- Oversee sales staff and plan staffing, training, and performance evaluations
- Plan and prepare advertising and promotional materials to increase sales
- Facilitate sales presentations and product demonstrations, including new product introductions
- Provide up-to-date and accurate sales numbers (current, goal, trend, etc.)
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service
- Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability
- Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products
- Stay informed on industry trends, innovations, and changes affecting media planning
Requirements
- 2 or more years of relative work experience
- 2 or more years of supervisory experience
- Must commit to a minimum of 1 year to understand the sales cycle and achieve desired results
Pay
Salaried position at $55,000 per year plus commissions, with expected yearly earnings of $75,000–$100,000 based on commission targets.
Schedule
- 50+ hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday with 2–4 Saturdays per month
- Additional availability may be required due to customer deadlines and agricultural seasonality
- Occasional remote work required
