About the role

The Sales Support Representative at SRS Building Products supports the sales process by managing orders, addressing client inquiries, and providing administrative assistance. This role strengthens contractor relationships, collaborates with Territory Managers to drive growth, and delivers exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, delivery, and order status.
  • Accurately process and manage sales orders and maintain detailed records of sales activities.
  • Provide administrative support, including preparing reports and assisting with presentations.
  • Cook up with internal teams to ensure smooth order execution and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Partner with Territory Managers to support 30+ active accounts monthly and meet sales goals.
  • Make outbound sales calls daily, documenting insights in CRM to drive growth.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Team to manage account credit health and order-to-cash processes.
  • Support teammates during absences to ensure consistent customer service.
  • Monitor competitors and share market intelligence to inform strategy.
  • Demonstrate product expertise through quotes, order management, and client consultations.
  • Represent SRS at industry events to stay current on trends and expand customer networks.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in sales or sales support; experience in building material distribution preferred.
  • College degree preferred; construction wholesale distribution experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid time management and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ethical and trustworthy in all professional interactions.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Agility software experience is a plus.
  • Familiar with CRM systems for call documentation and customer follow-up.
  • Capable of quoting prices, managing orders, and conducting material takeoffs and estimates.
  • Able to review and follow up on open orders, credit memos, and quotes.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Ongoing travel to Field Support Center in McKinney, TX.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' work experience in a Sales Support Representative role in the building material distribution industry, particularly in selling residential roofing products.
  • Proven success in residential roofing product sales to local contractors.
  • Proven ability to drive sales, support territory managers, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Effective team player who promotes collaboration and guides efforts toward shared goals.
  • An analytical thinker with a proactive approach to resolving issues and managing conflict.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, quickly learns new tools and processes, and manages multiple priorities.
  • Maintains high ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Capable of streamlining workflows to improve efficiency and sales outcomes.
  • Encourages new ideas and takes initiative to support continuous improvement.
