Sales Representative - Western MA (Quality Beverage)
Description
As a Sales Representative, you'll be responsible for hitting sales targets and managing all activities in your assigned accounts. You'll develop strong business relationships with your customers and handle all marketing and merchandising efforts. Essentially, you'll be the business manager for your accounts, coordinating all company activities to ensure success.
This position is commission-based, with an estimated annual commissions range of $50,000-$56,000. In addition to commissions, the role is eligible for Pay for Performance compensation with an 80% attainment target of $14,250/year.
Key Accountabilities
- Visit your assigned retail accounts regularly to sell volume, increase distribution, and ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and shelf space management
- Build strong business relationships and deliver professional sales presentations using sales histories and pitch books
- Maintain stock levels to maintain product freshness standards in your retail accounts
- Sell new placements and merchandise with paper and book permanent POCMs
- Increase shelf space and improve positioning for A-B products while introducing new brands and packages when appropriate
- Collaborate with the credit department to resolve credit issues and collect past-due balances
- Make daily decisions on retail inventory levels based on past sales history, climate changes, competitive activity, and special promotional activities
Requirements
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Great at communicating, presenting, and connecting with others
- Good at managing time, prioritizing, and staying organized
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using technology (laptop, tablet, iPad, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- Skilled at negotiating
- Willing to work flexible hours when needed
- Capable of working independently and taking initiative
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic, ready to learn and contribute to the team’s success
- Education/Training/Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- A college degree or equivalent work experience is a plus
- Physical Demands And Environment:
- Regularly lift objects up to 25 pounds and up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Expect to be on your feet a lot, either standing or walking throughout the day
- Requires a good amount of mental focus to handle complex tasks that need concentrated effort and attention to detail
- Includes travel and facing various weather conditions when visiting customers, prospects, or vendors
- Potential for accidents due to road travel, including traffic incidents, delivery of goods, or the setup of displays, so staying alert and careful is important
