About the role
Sales Representatives support the company’s sales goals through professional sales techniques and strong customer service, maintaining quality relationships with existing accounts while driving new business and providing sales and marketing coverage across the territory. This role covers the sale of industrial specialty gases, welding supplies, and related materials to targeted industries.
Responsibilities
- Sell equipment, materials, and supplies to customers using technical knowledge, advising, and troubleshooting
- Develop maximum sales potential out of an assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and product/market knowledge
- Provide technical expertise to customers and internal teams as needed
- Coordinate with the purchasing team on inventory levels and reducing dead stock
- Manage customer accounts, including orders, receivables, and disputes as they arise
- Maintain a target list and make cold calls to potential and current customers
- Support price auditing and margin growth through contracts and ERP software
- Perform asset/inventory tracking audits as needed
- Participate in regular team meetings and check-ins
- Create quotes, maintain customer files, and manage account coordination
- Maintain CRM/scorecard metrics to grow market share
- Stay current on market conditions, product updates, and new technologies
- Provide product training, demonstrations, and presentations to customers as needed
- Follow the company’s established sales process and value-selling approach
- Serve as backup for counter sales/phones when needed
- Support efficient product delivery
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or certificate in a business-related field a plus
- 3–5+ years in industrial sales, or an industry-adjacent field with strong customer service experience; direct gases/welding industry experience preferred but not required
- Valid class D driver’s license
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP software
- Ability to work independently and influence opinions, attitudes, and decisions
- Strong organization and time management, with the ability to perform under deadlines
- Professionalism, strong people skills, and strong oral/written communication
- Team player able to communicate across all levels of an organization
- Must pass a drug screen

$55,000 – $100,000 per year
Occasional Saturday work required (2+ per year).
