About the role
Sales Representative position at our John Deere dealership in Plentywood, Montana. This role involves managing sales information, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, conducting equipment demonstrations, and staying current on industry trends and financing options.
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships and expand customer pipelines
- Implement strategies to increase sales and profit by prospecting within the defined territory
- Create customer-specific proposals based on detailed needs analysis
- Conduct market research to produce competitive comparisons
- Develop and maintain expertise on industry trends and best practices
- Maintain sales management information for all customers in the assigned territory
- Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment
- Conduct new equipment field demonstrations
- Monitor trends in customer’s business activities and provide timely communication to management
- Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and evaluate equipment for trading purposes
- Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing purchases
- Attend applicable sales training events and seminars
Requirements
- At least 3 years of prior outside sales experience
- Experience developing and winning new business in a highly competitive environment
- Self-driven to actively prospect, cultivate, and close new business opportunities
- Exceptional communication and sales presentation skills
- Ability to relate well to all kinds of people and build trusting relationships
- Unwavering integrity and strong work ethic
- Willingness to travel across the assigned sales territory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Ability to meet physical demands (sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous sales knowledge and experience with agricultural equipment and outdoor power equipment strongly preferred.
