Location: Evansville, IN area - Onsite presence required for the first 30-60 days to ensure a strong ramp-up. After that, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule, with office visits and client-site travel as needed.

$65,000 - $80,000 Base + Uncapped Commission (1st yr OTE $100k-$135k) + Benefits

Sales Representative Description
Our client in the industrial machinery manufacturing sector is looking for a Sales Representative to add to their team. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by developing new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and selling capital equipment, aftermarket parts, and technical service solutions.
This role requires a consultative sales approach, combining technical knowledge with strong relationship-building skills to understand customer challenges and provide solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, business development experience, and the ability to manage long sales cycles while building customer relationships.
Sales Representative Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities
- Expand relationships with existing customers to grow equipment, service, and aftermarket sales
- Conduct market, industry, and competitor research to support growth strategies
- Manage full sales pipeline and long-cycle opportunities to achieve sales objectives
- Conduct plant visits and operational assessments to understand customer needs
- Recommend equipment and service solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and ROI
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, quotations, and bid documents
- Translate technical product specifications into clear business value for customers
- Build relationships with plant managers, engineers, operations leaders, and procurement teams
- Lead pricing discussions and contract negotiations
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, installation, and service teams to support customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage opportunities from quotation through delivery and installation
- Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, and forecasts within the CRM system
Sales Representative Qualifications
- 3+ years of capital equipment or industrial machinery sales required
- Mechanical aptitude required
- Experience managing long sales cycles (8 weeks - 6 months) required
- CRM experience required
- Ability to travel within assigned territory required
