About the role
We are seeking a self-driven, energetic, and tenacious Business Development Associate for our B2B Flowerbuyer.com business. The ideal candidate will establish relationships with key retail florists, close deals, and retain existing customers.
Responsibilities
- Establish a high level of rapport and trust with florists, especially those not affiliated with Teleflora.
- Call and meet with key retail florists via phone and Microsoft Teams to introduce them to our products and highlight significant savings.
- Work with internal departments to provide customized products and solutions to top accounts that could bring significant volume to the portfolio.
- Utilize appropriate order entry, call tracking, and contact management software.
- Participate in sales, product, and process training as required.
- Meet and exceed daily expectations of time spent on telephone selling to florists.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of entering a new industry and building a book of business.
- Ability to close and manage relationships over the phone.
- Successful track record of new lead generation and overcoming customer objections.
- A customer-obsessed mindset.
- Strong time management, communication, and execution skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Desire to achieve and maintain high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Hardworking, creative, open-minded, and driven demeanor.
- PC literacy required: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of sales experience; floral industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with outbound sales, customer relationship management, or account development preferred.
- Experience with prospecting, customer retention, objection handling, and reactivating inactive customers is a plus.
