About the role
The Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, educating prospective customers about Denver's composting requirements, and converting leads into long-term hauling and composting service contracts.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect multifamily communities, apartment complexes, restaurants, food service establishments, breweries, grocery stores, commercial kitchens, and other businesses impacted by Denver's composting ordinance.
- Conduct in-person sales visits and door-to-door outreach throughout the Denver Metro Area.
- Develop relationships with property managers, facility managers, restaurant owners, and sustainability coordinators.
- Generate new service agreements and recurring hauling contracts.
- Attend industry networking events, trade shows, chamber meetings, and sustainability-focused events.
- Educate prospective clients on Denver's Universal Recycling and Composting Ordinance requirements.

- Conduct site assessments and recommend service plans in alignment with Denver’s Ordinance requirements.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, pricing packages, and service agreements.
- Manage sales pipeline through CRM systems and maintain accurate activity records.
- Work directly with the Director of Marketing to execute market penetration strategies.
- Follow established outreach campaigns and lead-generation initiatives.
- Provide field feedback on customer concerns, competitive activity, and market opportunities.
- Participate in customer education campaigns and promotional events.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new customers.
- Collaborate remotely with the Account Management team to nurture and maintain relationships with key accounts, serving as the on-site point of contact when needed.
- Identify upselling opportunities for additional services.
- Collaborate with operations staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Ability to conduct in-person prospecting and cold outreach.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experienced reporting to offsite management
Qualifications
- Required: 2+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience.
- Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Required: Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Required: Ability to conduct in-person prospecting and cold outreach.
- Required: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Required: Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Preferred: Experience selling waste, recycling, composting, environmental, or facility services.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Denver's sustainability initiatives and waste diversion programs.
- Preferred: Experience working with property management companies, restaurants, or commercial facilities.
- Preferred: Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Pay
$50,400 salary plus 100% commission.
