About the role

The Sales Representative contributes to the growth of the organization through sales of new business in construction and services, focusing on comprehensive fire protection systems across all disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire sales leads for new work, including installation, service, and support of fire protection systems.
  • Provide both outside and inside sales.
  • Solicit business across all building and construction types: new construction, renovations, additions, retrofits, and similar.
  • Lead the sales process from initial contact or bid invite to contract acquisition or Notice to Proceed.
  • Generate and foster new and existing customer relationships to drive continued sales.
  • Create new proposals, follow up on active proposals, and close sales.
  • Communicate the status of active proposals to management.
  • Attend internal meetings (e.g., kickoff, job progress, design coordination) and external meetings (e.g., customer coordination, Authority Having Jurisdiction, design, and submittal planning).
  • Represent the company professionally among customers and the industry, emphasizing professionalism, quality, and relationship focus.
  • Assist Project Managers and the Design Department with schedules, product/material information, and work coordination.
  • Support Accounting personnel with job setup, profitability monitoring, billing, and related tasks.
  • Utilize accounting software to track costs, billing, Change Orders, and similar tasks.
  • Assist with general marketing activities and company promotion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required). Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Business or related field (preferred).
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in business development or Fire Life Safety sales (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience operating a computer and using Microsoft Office (required).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation (required).
  • Ability to comply with the company’s Drug and Alcohol policy and pass background screenings, including customer-specific requirements.
  • Frequent travel required, up to 40%.

  • Occasional use of personal protective equipment as required by company safety policies.
