Responsibilities
- Build and maintain effective, long-term relationships with customers, including senior-level and C-suite decision-makers, to drive growth and retention
- Possess strong prospecting skills, identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts, including increased volume, margin improvement, new products, and bundled offerings
- Follow the defined sales process by creating and tracking leads, maintaining an accurate pipeline, and forecasting opportunities expected to close within 30 and 60 days
- Develop and execute account plans for high-potential customers; monitor performance and create close-the-gap plans when results are not tracking to plan
- Build profitable, win/win customer solutions, including managing complex opportunities and submitting deals for approval in accordance with pricing and credit requirements
- Identify and act on cross-sell opportunities by collaborating with sales peers across channels and business lines, responding to cross-leads within 24 hours
- Capture all customer interactions, opportunity details, and relevant information accurately in the CRM using sales tools such as Microsoft Office and Sales CRM
- Identify accounts at risk of attrition and develop proactive retention strategies to protect and grow the portfolio
- Provide ongoing customer support by managing inbound requests and working with internal teams to resolve issues related to cards, billing, systems, sites, reporting, and technical needs
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Solid financial acumen with the ability to analyze volume, margin, and profitability
- Proven relationship-building and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
Skills
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, account management, or a related commercial role
- Experience in the petroleum or energy industry and/or a sales designation considered an asset
