At Helena, our Sales Representatives serve on the front line between our business and our customers and are a key component to our success.

  • Build personal relationships with customers to help them identify agronomic solutions and offer our high-quality products.
  • Seek out new business to help us grow and expand into new markets.
  • This position is bonus eligible and a company vehicle is provided.

Candidates must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the designated sales territory.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Make calls on regular and prospective customers to drive new business.
  • Demonstrate products and provide essential information.
  • Complete sales contracts and forms and record sales information.
  • Collect receivables in a timely manner.
  • Promote products at trade shows and conferences.
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise and strive to achieve the market's sales goals.
  • Regulate credit sales according to company credit policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by your leader.

Regular and reliable attendance is required. Follows all company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree is preferred.
  • One year of related work experience is required.
  • Sales experience, especially in agriculture, is highly preferred.
  • Recent college graduates with intern experience will also be considered.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A Certified Crop Advisor License is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of fertilizer formulating is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of agricultural precision information technology is preferred.
  • Travel by various means up to 25% of the time is required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.

Work Environment and Physical Aspects of the Job

  • The work environment for this position will be in an office setting and outdoors in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
  • When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, you may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.
  • This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lift, carry, push or pull (up to and including 50lbs or more), reach overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climb, grip, grasp and twist using hands and wrists, bend and stoop for long periods of time, work below knee levels for short periods of time and work above shoulder level for short periods.
