Sales Representative

About The Role

We’re looking for a Sales Representative to grow HashWhales’ client base across managed IT support, cybersecurity, and web/software engineering. You’ll work leads from inbound audit and quote requests through to close, and build relationships with local businesses across the DMV.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on inbound leads from the free technology audit, grader, and quote request forms.
• Run discovery calls to understand a prospect’s IT, security, or web needs and match them to the right service tier.
• Own the pipeline from first contact through signed proposal, using CRM data to track and prioritize follow-ups.
• Represent HashWhales at local business events and networking opportunities across the DMV.
• Work with the engineering team to scope accurate, honest proposals — no overselling what we can deliver.
• Report pipeline status and close rates back to the founder weekly.

Requirements

• Experience in B2B sales, ideally selling technical or professional services.
• Comfortable explaining IT support, cybersecurity, or web development at a level a small-business owner can act on.
• Strong follow-up discipline — most deals close on the third or fourth touch, not the first.
• Based in or familiar with the DC/Maryland/Virginia market.
• Clear written and verbal communication for proposals and client-facing calls.

Nice to Have

• Existing relationships with small or midsize businesses in the DMV.
• Experience selling managed IT, MSP, or SaaS services.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot or similar).
