About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Sales Representative is to drive business development within the assigned territory, serving as the company’s representative to ensure clients receive premium products with a high degree of customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability. The Sales Rep owns the outcome of every job, project, or rental—from identifying opportunities and quoting work to coordinating logistics, ensuring quality execution, and delivering profitable results. The role also involves strategic planning, competitor and market analysis, and event planning, with a focus on prompt attention to customer inquiries and needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in the company’s products and services to become a technical resource for customers.
- Respond immediately to customer inquiries, issues, and concerns via phone, email, or in person.
- Prepare and submit a weekly schedule to the Sales Manager outlining planned activities.
- Maintain and update the CRM with detailed call reports, follow-ups, and customer interactions.
- Generate leads by scouting the territory, monitoring bid opportunities, cold-calling prospects, and nurturing existing client relationships.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, client office visits, and job site inspections to assess project requirements.
- Address customer issues on active projects by coordinating resources and resolving challenges promptly.
- Research, analyze, and report sales and marketing data for the assigned territory.
- Assist in expanding the customer base and develop quarterly business plans to meet objectives.
- Plan and coordinate special events and attend industry functions to promote the company’s brand.
- Ensure adherence to safety programs on all projects.
- Secure change orders for work outside the original scope and assist in collections to minimize outstanding receivables.
- Conduct strategic and operational sales planning, including performance reporting for the territory and accounts.
- Prepare and submit quotations, financial reports, sales analyses, and invoices to support territorial goals.
- Uphold company values and standards in all daily activities.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in construction equipment rental, sales, manufacturing, or construction project management.
- Proficiency in PC software applications and CRM systems.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical manuals.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, bidding procedures, and contract documents.
- Skills in workflow analysis, project management, and multitasking.
