Duties and/or Responsibilities

  • Covers sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Sets assignments for sales staff.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings and events.
  • Develops direction for product and service development through surveys, customer interactions, and industry statistics.
  • Maintains contact with top 20 customers and assists sales staff in preparing major bids.
  • Develops leads for current projects through project reporting periodicals, permit-issuing agencies, trade associations, and customer involvement.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Operations VP's to forecast sales volumes for all product lines.
  • Oversees the Customer Service Supervisor and communicates job and customer statuses.
  • Oversees the Ready Mix Quality Control Supervisor in establishing the ready mix quality control program.
  • Prepares and submits jobs and projects for various award and recognition programs (SDRMCA, SDACPA, etc.).
  • Collaborates with ready mix team in setting margin goals.
  • Leads operations managers in setting pricing targets to achieve gross margin goals.
  • Leads sales staff in estimating projects including cost analysis, service requirements, product requirements, and matching projects to goals.
  • Creates advertising and sales literature to educate customers on products and services via mailings, customer seminars, etc.
  • Communicates effectively (verbal, listening, written) and works with difficult people under high stress situations.
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; able to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Troubleshoots and solves situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Maintains production problem discussions with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Maintains DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulations compliance.
  • Works safely and takes action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Able to work independently and under time constraints.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent preferred.
  • 5 years sales and marketing management in concrete industry.
  • Able to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card, and acceptable driving record.

Pay

$120,000 - $150,000 per year depending on experience.
