About the role
This role owns and executes the regional sales strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and gross margin objectives, managing, coaching, and developing a network of manufacturer's representative firms, including setting expectations, tracking performance, and providing ongoing training and support.
Responsibilities
- Owns and executes the regional sales strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and gross margin objectives, managing, coaching, and developing a network of manufacturer's representative firms, including setting expectations, tracking performance, and providing ongoing training and support.
- Influences project and master specifications by calling on consulting engineering firms, municipalities, and utilities, and leads product presentations, lunch and learns, and technical training sessions for engineers, reps, and end users.
- Provides front line application engineering and product selection support in coordination with internal engineering resources, identifies and manages sales opportunities from specification through award, and collaborates with inside sales on competitive project quotations aligned with regional pricing and margin targets.
- Maintains accurate opportunity management, forecasts, and activity tracking in Salesforce, develops strong relationships with regional stakeholders including engineers, municipal decision makers, contractors, and distributors, and monitors competitive activity and market trends to provide actionable feedback to management.
- Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of sales or technical sales experience in the municipal water and/or wastewater industry
- Experience working with or managing manufacturer's representative firms
- Strong understanding of the municipal project lifecycle, including specification, bidding, and procurement processes
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales forecasting
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 50%)
Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product applications
- Ability to influence specifications and build credibility with consulting engineers
- Experience with valve or process equipment sales
- Experience with Salesforce specifically

Pay
$115,000 to $125,000 per year, plus a 20% bonus.
Schedule
Full time, based in Los Angeles, California, with extensive travel required (approximately 50%) throughout the West Coast territory.
