Sales Manager, Hotel Services - The Charleston Place Hotel
About the role
The Sales Manager, Venues is responsible for effectively guiding customers through event experiences, identifying solutions that meet their goals and objectives, resulting in a compelling event experience. This position utilizes all available tools to ensure maximum event and revenue capture from an assigned customer base, cultivates relationships with key hotel personnel, and supports company initiatives, business strategies, and core values. Reports to a Sr. Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director, Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Revenue Generation
- Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach using Encore’s sales process and methodology.
- Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner, including those submitted through Encore’s website, venue booking system, or other assigned sources.
- Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
- Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings to support the customer event experience.
- Understand event cost structure and incorporate it into solution designs according to established profitability guidelines.
- Relationship Management
- Deliver world-class service by cultivating and maintaining relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore support functions.
- Research and understand customer history to create personalized experiences.
- Attend customer meetings, understand their goals, and respond to their questions, concerns, and challenges.
- Ensure all customer information is up-to-date and accurate in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Actively refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities.
- Sales Accountability
- Maintain a healthy pipeline to ensure achievement of established revenue targets.
- Ensure all known opportunities are accurately recorded and updated in the CRM.
- Support sales forecasting efforts to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Learn and adopt all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to the role and new initiatives or programs.
- Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging event technology.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
- 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
- Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
- Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment
- Work is performed in a hotel or convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust.
- Working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes.
- Use of high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components, with exposure to heights via lifts and ladders.
- May require working in multiple hotel locations.
- Irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
Pay
Salary pay range: $42,414.00 - $55,138.00. Compensation is determined based on qualifications for the specified location, including relevant work experience, skills, and expertise. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
