About the role
Reliance One, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive profitable sales growth throughout Michigan for a leading industrial manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and end users throughout Michigan.
- Execute strategic sales plans to achieve annual revenue, profitability, and market growth objectives.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts.
- Deliver consultative technical and commercial solutions tailored to customer applications and business needs.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, quotations, and pipeline activity using CRM software.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and other internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular performance reporting.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences.
- Travel throughout Michigan to support customers and drive new business development.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of successful experience in technical or industrial sales.
- Proven track record of consultative selling and developing long-term customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of technical products, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% throughout Michigan.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced business degree.
- Experience working with OEMs, industrial manufacturers, or distribution networks.
- Experience selling engineered products or technical manufacturing solutions.
- Established customer relationships within Michigan's manufacturing market.
- Strong business development and strategic account management experience.
