About the role
The purpose of this Sales Manager-Generalist is to develop new business opportunities across all hotel revenue streams, including group sales, preferred transient partners, events sales, and private dining spaces. The Sales Manager will also cover other Sales Manager territories during out-of-office periods to maximize lead response and conversion.
Responsibilities
- Conduct prospecting efforts to build a pipeline of business opportunities for the hotel.
- Organize monthly team-wide prospecting activities.
- Develop top accounts for the hotel.
- Affirmatively maintain an accurate client and account database in Opera and adhere to all Accor Opera system standards.
- Execute sales strategies to generate new business across all hotel revenue streams.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship-building activities.
- Maintain a consistent sales pipeline by actively researching and pursuing new accounts, industries, and market segments.
- Utilize prospecting and account management tools, including Opera OSEM, Cvent Navigator, historical business data, lost business reports, and other available resources to identify and cultivate new sales opportunities.
- Conduct regular account mining and market analysis to uncover untapped business opportunities and maximize revenue potential.
- Respond promptly to inquiries and sales leads, ensuring timely follow-up and effective conversion of prospects into confirmed business.
- Support lead triage efforts by evaluating incoming opportunities, prioritizing responses, and directing leads to the appropriate sales resources when necessary.
- Provide sales coverage for other Sales Managers during planned and unplanned absences to ensure uninterrupted customer service, lead management, and revenue generation.
- Collaborate with sales and event sales teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to event execution and exceptional guest experiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, meeting planners, travel managers, and key business partners to encourage repeat business and long-term loyalty.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, contracts, and presentations that align with client needs and organizational revenue objectives.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand to identify opportunities for business growth and maintain a competitive market position.
- Maintain accurate account, activity, and sales pipeline information within the hotel's customer relationship management (CRM) and sales systems.
- Achieve or exceed individual sales goals, revenue targets, and key performance indicators established by hotel leadership.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, networking events, trade shows, and other business development activities to enhance market presence and professional knowledge.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers.
- Attend monthly Sales & Marketing Team Meetings as necessary.
- Have a complete knowledge of hotel services and accommodations.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Accor Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming in compliance with the company dress code.
- Comply at all times with Accor, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and Raffles Boston standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Arts degree or college diploma is required.
- Progressive experience in a similar capacity is a definite asset.
- College course work in related field is helpful.
Skills
- Working knowledge of personal computers.
- Understanding of Opera Software and hotel Property Management Systems is helpful.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
- Ability to assemble and understand integrated spreadsheets.

$77,500 to $82,500
