Sales Manager, Commercial (SMB)
About the role
Scribe's Commercial business is one of the fastest-growing parts of the company, fueled by massive inbound demand from a product that sells itself — and a sales team that converts that signal into revenue. As Sales Manager, Commercial, you'll lead a team of Account Executives closing high-velocity deals with small and mid-sized businesses, turning product-led interest into paid customers at scale.
This is a role for someone who coaches in real time, builds repeatable systems, and gets energized by a high-volume environment where speed and consistency are the job.
What You'll Do
- Own pipeline conversion and deal velocity across the SMB funnel, holding the team to clear activity and outcome metrics in a fast-moving, high-volume environment
- Coach Account Executives in real time — on calls, in deals, and in the field — to sharpen discovery, tighten demo efficiency, and close with consistency
- Build and refine playbooks for PLG-assisted selling, turning organic product usage into a repeatable motion that scales across the team
- Drive forecast accuracy and pipeline hygiene across a high-activity book, ensuring leadership has a reliable view of what’s closing and what needs attention
- Develop early-career sellers into strong performers with clear promotion paths, creating a pipeline of talent from within the team
- Partner with Marketing, Growth, RevOps, and Enablement to improve lead quality, routing, and funnel conversion — flagging what’s broken and building what’s missing
What We're Looking For
- Has led a Commercial or similar SMB/CML sales team of at least 7 Account Executives, including hiring and performance management, in a high-growth environment
- Manged reps closing $10K–$50K ARR deals on 30–60 day cycles and knows what good looks like at that pace and deal size
- Operated in a high-volume, inbound-led or PLG sales environment and built or refined the motions that make it work
- Fluent in pipeline management, conversion metrics, and activity-based forecasting — can read a funnel and know exactly where to intervene
- Coaches for efficiency and repeatability, not just outcome — knows how to get a whole team to a high standard, not just the top performers
