The Ann is one of the first Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties, offering 157 design-forward suites and a café-and-cocktail concept, Little James. This role offers unique opportunities to shape the brand and make a significant impact.
Responsibilities
- Meets and exceeds revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts.
- Direct Sales Targets: Ensure a successful direct sales program in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan.
- New Account Development: Capture competitor's accounts through networking, research, and reader board surveys, targeting and soliciting accounts most likely to generate new business.
- Key Account Management: Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
- Yield Management: Utilize yield management techniques to negotiate room rates and function space commitments to enhance financial performance.
- Account Service and Management: Maintain a well-documented, organized, and up-to-date file management system, develop strong customer relationships, and promptly follow up on customer needs and inquiries.
- Product Knowledge: Conduct research and surveys to effectively capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitor's weaknesses.
- Time Management: Focus on revenue-producing activity, maximize selling time, and maintain a neat, clean, and business-like appearance.
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months minimum in sales, customer service-related position or hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management experience, and highly developed customer service skills.
- Effective business writing skills, ability to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently, and understanding of 12th grade level mathematics, spelling, and reading skills.
- Ability to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, attend functions, climb stairs, use door keys, and operate basic office equipment.
- Strong and effective sales skills.
Qualifications
- Requires vision to read fine print and computer screens, to see colors, and to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions.
- Must be able to meet verbal and written instructions, solve problems, and make sound business decisions.
- Must exhibit a positive and involved team attitude and maintain open communications with all co-workers.
