Sales Manager

About the role

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing a proactive sales effort with various market segments including group business, leisure market, social, military, educational, religious, fraternal and sports markets. They oversee advertising and promotional initiatives and contribute to overall revenue generating efforts to maximize hotel profitability and maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and exceed 100% RGI
• Achieve budgeted total hotel revenue expectations
• Demonstrate excellent selling skills
• Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue
• Promptly handle inquiry calls and monitor paperwork for confirming function details
• Solicit new and repeat guest room and event business
• Maintain client base of key accounts and conventions
• Determine client and guest needs
• Make outside sales calls and phone solicitation calls to obtain business
• Conduct on-site inspections to book business
• Aid in evaluating potential business opportunities for profitability and overall benefit to the hotel
• Represent hotel in community affairs and industry-related events
• Maintain accurate sales records, database, and reports
• Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the sales department
• Understand and utilize industry metrics and analysis
• Manage advertising and promotional activities

Requirements

• Two or more years of hotel experience
• A professional demeanor, warm and welcoming personality, and ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds

General idea of the STR Report and other key industry metrics/analysis

Skills

• Excellent selling skills
• Knowledge of groups, SMERF, sports, FIT and leisure segments

Pay

Salary Range: $49,000 - $56,750
