Responsibilities
- Increase sales and profitability by broadening use of assigned product portfolio, gaining new accounts, and building new markets.
- Manage sales with the most profitable customers in the respective territory.
- Develop and implement lead generation strategies for building and maintaining a new customer sales funnel.
- Assist the accounts receivable team with past due payments.
- Conduct customer visits, document interactions using CRM, negotiate commercial terms, and provide technical insights.
- Travel 50–60% with overnight stays, mostly domestic and occasionally internationally.
- Forecast sales, reconcile variances, and achieve turnover budget.
- Attend fairs, trade shows, society events, and internal group meetings.
- Gather market intelligence on product usage, pricing, and potential customer volumes.
- Work with multi-functional teams to represent the “voice of the customer” and customer needs.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering or Business, or equivalent sales experience.
- 5–10 years of experience in field sales and/or marketing of raw materials for the food, beverage, agriculture, and/or industrial sectors.
- Ability to communicate and express ideas clearly and concisely, using active listening skills.
- Ability to work productively with others and seek opportunities to bring people together.
- Persuasive negotiation skills at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to self-manage and operate independently.
- Strong time management skills while maintaining communication with the team.
