Sales Manager
Job Overview
Responsible for creating and managing the business plan for a specific region or customer, aiming to achieve agreed upon customer plan volume, revenue, and margin objectives. The position will lead initiatives with the Company’s major accounts to achieve sales, merchandising, and category development targets in alignment with the national sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the development and execution of national or regional customer business sales strategies, ensuring that the strategies align with the overall business strategy.
- Participate in the annual and long-term business planning and strategy development process.
- Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within the assigned larger account(s).
- Achieve alignment with Director, Customer, and Broker through clear and concise communication.
- Pro-actively develop, negotiate and implement trade spending investment and promotional plans to increase listings, distribution, share of shelf, and market share.
- Participates in setting pricing of products and managing SKU assortments.
- Performs timely administration of internal processes as well as team and resource management to create efficient internal processes.
- Coincides company specific developments to improve sell-through rates, such as by introducing promotions, rebates and markdowns.
- Understands category specific landscapes and trends by tracking customer sales performance, identifying variances vs. budget (volume, revenue & margin), and developing and execute customer programs to deliver customer plan on volume, revenue and margin that are consistent with overall customer business team and national sales strategies.
- Develops and maintains relationships with larger customers and brokers contacts to gain knowledge of customer business needs and ensure delivery of Give & Go business plans.
- Understands existing and anticipated customer requirements; as well as identifies company products to fill such requirements.
- Demonstrate an outside-in mindset, ensuring the customer (internal and external) remains prominent in the execution of departmental activities, with the goal of achieving positive customer experience.
- Maintains up to date Broker and Customer contacts and process for product removals and recalls.
Recipe For Success
- Completion of college diploma in Business Administration, Sales or another related field.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry.
- Previous experience in category or sales promotion management.
- Previous experience in budgeting and target setting.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and active insurance coverage.
