Responsibilities
- Grow existing accounts and develop new accounts within the automotive sector.
- Manage existing and new automotive projects.
- Develop ELANTAS Automotive Business in alignment with assigned growth targets.
- Conduct market research and surveys to identify companies in targeted industry or market segments using online trade directories, internet search, and industry portals.
- Identify and qualify target companies for specific product sales push activities as per the automotive strategy.
- Visit, call, or email appropriate personnel to introduce the company and products; conduct in-depth discussions on customer requirements, qualify prospects, and establish needs.
- Engage in technical discussions to identify appropriate products for customer applications, arrange sample testing, and follow up until product approval and price negotiation.
- Handle daily operational issues for regional customers and follow up on new inquiries.
- Identify potential new clients and business opportunities, working closely with the internal technical team to recommend products.
- Visit customers for business discussions and relationship strengthening.
- Analyze competitors for individual customers and market segments, benchmark competitor products, and derive market and competitor price points.
- Collaborate with other regions to establish and maintain customers, handle operational issues, support new projects, and conduct joint customer visits.
- Plan and execute local and global project activities, coordinate between departments and stakeholders, manage project gaps and budgets, monitor progress, and report on automotive trends and feedback.
- Manage updates on new project developments and attend regional trade shows to understand market, customer, and competitor situations.
- Set sales goals, track progress, forecast sales, and compile reports for management review.
- Address customer questions and issues, use CRM platforms to retain customers and seek new prospects, and maintain strong customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to special projects as instructed, approve commercial offers within corporate authority regulations, and analyze sales developments using internal tools.
- Provide input to sales management on customers and competitive trends, meet and exceed annual business development goals, and maintain accurate CRM records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- MBA or commercial training is a plus but not required if the candidate has strong market-building experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales or technical sales position.
- 3–5 years of experience in e-mobility/powertrain field preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of insulating materials such as potting resins, adhesives, encapsulation resins, impregnating resins, or insulating papers preferred but not required.
- Balanced mix of technical credibility, commercial drive, and customer-facing maturity.
- Proven experience winning new business in a technical, solution-selling environment.
- Experience working with formulators, R&D teams, technical service, and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Experience in a matrixed organization where sales, technical, and operations must align.
