About the role
This role is responsible for customer operations and business development duties in a team environment. Responsibilities include daily communication with customers, issue resolution, and facilitation across teams to efficiently coordinate daily and weekly operations.
Responsibilities
- Research prospects and enter all data into the CRM.
- Source qualified clients.
- Understand and execute pricing methodology for all transportation modes.
- Quote freight independently and quickly.
- Communicate effectively across all groups.
- Develop working relationships with the business development group to transition enterprise accounts.
- Submit annual budget for new sales and accounts.
- Conduct annual business reviews for top clients.
- Travel when needed to meet with clients and prospects (less than 10% of time).
- Develop strategic relationships with mid-level decision makers.
- Review bids prior to submitting.
- Develop relationships with C-level decision makers.
- Professionally represent the organization to prospects, customers, carriers, and customer partners daily.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Sales or transportation experience required.
Skills
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Understanding of the US markets and seasonality.
- Understand terms and definitions of the transportation industry.
Physical Demands & Requirements
- Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Sitting most of the time; walking and standing required only occasionally.
- Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make discriminations in sound.
- Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Environmental Conditions
The work environment is a normal office setting with limited extremes to heat and/or cold, moderate noise, and minimal travel required for trainings and meetings.
Pay
The expected base pay range for this role is $80,000.00 - $125,000.00. Actual pay offered may vary depending on work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience.
