About the role
The Sales Manager will lead a team of Account Executives to drive revenue growth during Basis's scaling phase. The role involves designing and implementing a new outbound sales motion, building a strong team, refining the sales process, and providing strategic insights.
Responsibilities
- Build the Motion: Design and implement a new outbound sales motion, transitioning from reactive demand fulfillment to a proactive, scalable engine targeting mid-market and enterprise accounting firms.
- Lead and Scale: Manage, coach, and grow a team of high-performing Account Executives, focusing on hitting aggressive monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Playbook Development: Refine the sales motion from initial discovery to close, ensuring effective communication of the value of AI agents to accounting firms.
- Forecasting and Strategy: Provide visibility into the pipeline, identify market trends, and adjust strategy in real-time.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in high-growth B2B SaaS sales, with at least 2 years in a management or team lead capacity.
- Experience building new motions: Proven ability to stand up outbound programs, territory strategies, or new segment entries from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of the accounting industry, fintech, or complex professional services workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for simplifying complex technical AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and manage a repeatable sales process while maintaining a high level of team morale and performance.
Qualifications
- Experience with modern sales stacks (Salesforce/HubSpot, Apollo, Gong, etc.) and implementing data-driven coaching.
- Background in accounting or professional services—understanding the pain points of the people we serve.
- Prior experience at a startup during the Seed to Series B transition, where you had to build the plane while flying it.
