Our client, a premier destination for entertainment and gaming in Southern Oregon is seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Remote Sales Manager to grow group, convention and event business for is resort and 25,000 sq ft convention center. This is not a traditional five-day-a-week, on-property hotel sales role. A full-time Sales Coordinator is based at the resort to support the sales function, allowing the Sales Manager to spend meaningful time in-market developing relationships and generating demand. What You’ll DoCreate and execute a proactive business-development strategy for group, convention, meeting and event sales across the Pacific Northwest and selected Northern California markets.Prospect consistently. Identify new organizations, associations, corporations, meeting planners, third-party intermediaries, social groups and other qualified buyers rather than relying primarily on inbound leads.Build and maintain a meaningful pipeline of qualified opportunities and move prospects from initial outreach through site visit, proposal, negotiation and close.Develop relationships with meeting planners, association executives, corporate decision-makers, third-party meeting professionals and other referral sources.Represent property in key feeder markets through sales calls, networking, industry events, trade shows and client entertainment.Sell the resort’s convention center as a destination for meetings, conferences, banquets, trade shows, retreats and special events while maximizing guestrooms and total resort revenue.Conduct site tours and host qualified prospective clients at the resort.Negotiate guestroom rates, meeting-space rental, banquet and hotel services within approved guidelines and ensure agreements are documented accurately.Maintain accurate account activity, pipeline, bookings, cancellations and forecasts.Partner closely with the on-property Sales Coordinator and hospitality leadership team to ensure a smooth handoff from sales to execution.Provide market intelligence on competitive properties, customer needs, emerging accounts and opportunities to grow the company's share of Pacific Northwest group business. What We’re Looking ForDemonstrated hotel, resort, convention, destination or group-sales experience; at least two years of relevant conference or hotel sales experience required.Strong working knowledge of the Pacific Northwest meetings, conventions and group-sales market is essential.A proactive hunter who is comfortable building a territory, creating target-account lists, making outbound calls and opening new relationships.Existing relationships with corporate, association, meeting-planner, third-party or group accounts in the Pacific Northwest are highly desirable.Proven ability to sell meeting space, guestrooms, banquet/event business or comparable hospitality products.Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organizational and relationship-building skills.Ability to work independently in a remote/market-based environment while remaining closely connected to the on-property team.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to obtain required Oregon food-handler and OLCC credentials, maintain a valid driver’s license, and obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License.
