About the Role
We are looking for part-time Sales Leaders who are enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, and hard-working. The Sales Leader is responsible for providing exemplary selling and customer service designed to improve the productivity and profitability of the store. This role involves making product recommendations, serving as a role model for best practice retail execution, and building customer relationships. The Sales Leader also takes on leadership responsibilities, including managing daily tasks, opening/closing the store, and supporting store management.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a warm, inviting, and easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
- Build and share expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs tailored to customer needs.
- Support store management and assist the team as needed.
- Help customers find the perfect card and gift solutions for their needs.
- Share stories and reinforce a cycle of kindness to enhance customer connections.
- Manage store operations, including product replenishment, merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling online orders, and handling curbside deliveries.
- Deliver an exceptional shopping experience that leaves customers inspired and eager to return.
- Work as a team to meet store sales goals by ensuring customers leave with everything they need—and a few extras.
- Uphold all company policies and practices.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned, including inventory management, product sets, stocking, housekeeping, and stockroom tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior retail experience, sales, or customer service.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to open and close the store a minimum of three (3) times per week and work two (2) weekend shifts per month.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including events, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in specialty retail, sales, or customer service.

- Ability to handle store cash and products responsibly, maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to assist in training new store employees and work closely with store management.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Continuously stand/walk, push/pull, lift/carry up to 10 pounds, and use fine finger movements (e.g., keyboard operation, writing).
- Frequently bend at the waist, climb/work at heights (e.g., step ladders, ladders), kneel, squat, lift/carry up to 40 pounds, and reach overhead.
- Occasionally balance on uneven surfaces, lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Rarely/infrequently drive or travel, lift/carry up to 75 pounds, or sit for extended periods.
- Continuously communicate with customers, co-workers, and vendors in-person or over the phone, requiring speaking, hearing, and sight.
- Exposure to dust, cleaning agents, truck exhaust, inadequate lighting, noise, scents (e.g., candles, lotions), outdoor work, and heights in the stockroom or on the sales floor.
Schedule
This is a regular, part-time, hourly position averaging 10-28 hours per week, not to exceed 28 hours per week. The role is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
