About the role

As a Summer 2027 US Farm Animal Sales Intern, you will join one of Elanco’s Farm Animal Commercial teams (Beef, Dairy, Swine, Poultry, Channel, or Retail) to deliver a highly impactful business project that elevates the US Farm Animal Commercial organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define, execute, and deliver an assigned project within your designated sales territory, working independently while partnering with the broader Farm Animal team.
  • Engage directly with customers through farm and clinic visits, customer meetings, and field activities to understand their needs and gain firsthand business experience.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and cross-functional partners to gather information, identify opportunities, and develop solutions that support your territory and project goals.
  • Analyze customer, territory, and market insights to inform your project, track progress, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Present project findings, results, and recommendations to Farm Animal Leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agriculture Education, or related field.
  • Experience with farm animal health, livestock, or the agriculture industry.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively by phone, in person, and through presentations.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven, with a strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and leadership.
  • Strong interest and enthusiasm for agriculture.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make decisions within the context of uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Customer-focused mindset.

Additional Information

Regular travel is required for customer visits via car. This is a field-based role with locations throughout the United States.

Internship Program Details

  • Dates: May 17th – August 6th, 2027.
  • Pay: Competitive salary of $20–$40/hour, dependent upon major and year in school.
