Sales Floor Manager (Tulane Ave)

About the role

The Sales Floor Manager oversees and motivates store employees to ensure a constant rotation and flow of merchandise to the sales floor daily. They support staffing the retail store, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and maintaining a positive public image of Goodwill.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and closes the store, balancing cash registers and conducting end-of-day procedures.
• Maintains a clean and hazard-free store through daily monitoring and cleaning.
• Trains and develops the store team, assisting in the receiving, pricing, and displaying of store merchandise.
• Assists the store manager in achieving budgeted goals and corrective coaching and training of employees.
• Ensures adequate coverage of store operations by assisting with employee scheduling.
• Conducts daily store walkthroughs, team huddles, and regular store meetings.
• Performs all duties of store personnel including operating a cash register, performing weekly pulls, hanging new donations, and cleaning the store.
• Manages the store's revenue and expenses, working to achieve budgeted goals.
• Keeps the store clean and hazard-free by performing tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, and cleaning the bathrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Leadership, team building, and mentoring experience and/or training experience preferred.
• A background in leading teams in retail sales or other sales experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation, ability to pass MVR check, provide proof of a valid driver’s license, liability insurance, vehicle registration, and a current vehicle inspection sticker.
• Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power BI, and other relevant programs.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
