About the role

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor at Lowe's is responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver exceptional customer experiences in the store. This role involves providing resources and tools to support associates in delivering top-notch service, assisting with store operations such as down stocking and area recovery, and monitoring employee safety and lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting associates in providing the best service to customers.
  • Assisting with down stocking and area recovery.
  • Maintaining a safe and well-stocked store environment.
  • Coaching and training associates to ensure they meet sales and service objectives.
  • Leading and managing a team of associates to achieve store goals.
  • Engaging with customers and colleagues across different departments.
  • Communicating best practices to the team to inspire customer-focused behavior.
  • Supervising associates in other departments as needed.
  • Performing store opening and closing duties as required.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service.
  • Experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (optional).
  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams.
  • Experience supporting or participating in the training and development of associates.
  • Experience working cross-functionally.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of retail customer service experience.
  • 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (optional).
  • Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience working in the home improvement retail sector.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Experience in key carrying roles with manager-on-duty responsibilities.
  • Experience using store computer systems (such as Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).

Skills

Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and strong interpersonal skills are also required.

Schedule

This role generally schedules 39 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, and evenings as needed. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance, and potentially more depending on the job duties.

Travel Requirements

This role does not typically require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, trainings, or supporting neighboring stores/outlets.
