Position Summary

The Sales Executive, Employee Benefits is responsible for driving new business development, expanding client relationships, and contributing to revenue growth within the Employee Benefits division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns the development and execution of a personal sales pipeline and territory strategy.

  • Acts as a subject matter resource on employee benefits solutions and market positioning.

  • Drives accountability for achieving individual sales and growth targets.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with prospects, clients, and internal stakeholders.

  • Generates and qualifies leads through networking, research, and industry engagement.

  • Conducts prospect meetings, presentations, and solution demonstrations.

  • Collaborates across divisions to deliver integrated solutions and cross-sell services.

  • Executes all aspects of the sales cycle from prospecting through close.

Reporting, Quality & Operational Support

  • Maintains accurate pipeline tracking, forecasting, and CRM data.

  • Ensures quality and consistency in proposals, presentations, and client deliverables.

  • Monitors performance metrics and adjusts strategies to meet goals.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration

  • PARTNERS WITH INTERNAL TEAMS TO ALIGN SOLUTIONS WITH CLIENT NEEDS.

  • SUPPORTS SEAMLESS HANDOFFS TO SERVICE AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT TEAMS.

  • CONTRIBUTES TO A COLLABORATIVE TEAM ENVIRONMENT FOCUSED ON CLIENT SUCCESS.

Growth, Change & Special Initiatives

  • IDENTIFIES NEW MARKET OPPORTUNITIES AND CONTRIBUTES TO STRATEGIC GROWTH INITIATIVES.

  • SUPPORTS EXPANSION INTO TARGETED INDUSTRIES AND GEOGRAPHIC REGIONS.

  • STAYS CURRENT ON INDUSTRY TRENDS, COMPETITORS, AND MARKET DYNAMICS.

  • IDENTIFIES OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE SALES PROCESSES AND CLIENT ENGAGEMENT APPROACHES.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–7 years of sales experience or relevant insurance industry experience.

  • Proven ability to generate leads and close new business.

  • Strong networking presence in PA, MD, DC, or VA markets.

  • Ability to build relationships and influence decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

  • Experience in employee benefits, insurance brokerage, or related industry.

  • Life and Health insurance license.

  • Experience with Applied EPIC or similar systems.
