About the role

As part of the Schindler team, you’ll contribute to enhancing quality of life for communities by making places more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable. In this Sales Engineer MOD (Large Projects) position, you will provide sales engineering for large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with customer specifications at competitive costs while optimizing project pricing through disciplined value engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Bid document review and analysis (10%):
    • Conduct project bid reviews and analyses to support Sales Managers and FO in evaluating strategic importance and probability of win.
    • Assess opportunities based on initial project evaluations, including drawings, layouts, specification requirements, market intelligence, and competitive landscape.
  • Support client engagement, bid preparation, and submission (70%):
    • Support Sales Managers and FO in client engagement, including preparation of budgetary quotations, technical configurations, traffic analysis, and customized cost calculations.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution of the bid process, including development of non-standard and value-engineered solutions.
    • Develop project schedules with lead times and critical milestones for HQ and third-party materials to ensure compliance with required delivery dates.
    • Support Sales Managers and FO in consolidating all bid documentation and review final submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
    • Participate in customer meetings as Schindler’s technical expert, communicating complex technical details and providing on-site survey support as required.
  • Continuous post-project award support (10%):
    • Coordinate and lead cross-functional kick-off meetings for awarded projects involving HQ support teams (PM, ME, EE, Operations, etc.) to communicate technical complexities, risks, and execution challenges early in the project lifecycle.
    • Conduct root cause analysis on major project challenges related to costing, labor, engineering, and execution to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement for future Large Projects.
  • Tools and product development (10%):
    • Continuously contribute input to product solutions and offerings, driving optimization of MOD processes and tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and competitiveness.
    • Identify product gaps and emerging market opportunities to support roadmap development and drive future business growth.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or other related field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience; elevator industry knowledge preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Engineering understanding (mechanical and electrical; understanding of layouts).
    • Analytical competency (data mining, problem analysis; strong Excel skills).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience working in a quantitative or business-related capacity, such as consulting, strategy, or engineering.
    • Proficiency in MS Office with a strong emphasis on advanced MS Excel.
    • Experience and knowledge of Schindler products and configurators (myLeegoo/LBLC, Quotation Management, CADRE, Camos).
    • Approximately 20% travel required.
    • Problem-solving skills or Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
    • High level of independent work and initiative, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills (required).
    • Structured and independent work approach (required).
    • Experience in customer relationship management is valuable (preferred).

Pay

Base Salary: $82,900 - $100,600. The above represents the typical salary range for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on performance.
