About the role
New Millennium, a Steel Dynamics company, seeks a Sales Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical support in winning projects, working closely with the sales team and customers.
Responsibilities
- Build accurate, competitive estimates and quotes that secure project wins.
- Apply value-engineering strategies to ensure New Millennium and key customers stay ahead on large projects.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact, addressing complex issues promptly.
- Participate in refining estimating and quote processes, collaborating with Sales Leadership.
- Review and troubleshoot project scopes to minimize surprises.
- Travel to key markets to present products and engineering solutions.
- Connect stakeholders across customers, architects, engineers, and internal teams to keep projects moving.
- Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- E.I.T. or P.E. preferred, but not required.
- Industry knowledge of steel joist and deck products.
Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in the steel joist and deck industry is a plus.
Skills
- Technical proficiency in estimating and quoting.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices.
