Sales Engineer
About the role
The role of Sales Engineer at Numeric is to lead complex enterprise demos, discovery sessions, and proof-of-concept engagements. You will partner closely with Account Executives to develop technical win strategies and drive deals forward. You will also build deep credibility with senior finance stakeholders including CFOs, Controllers, and VPs of Finance as a trusted domain expert. Additionally, you will mentor and coach other SEs on accounting domain knowledge and the craft of technical selling.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex enterprise demos, discovery sessions, and proof-of-concept engagements independently across mid-market and enterprise accounts
- Partner closely with Account Executives to develop technical win strategies and drive deals forward
- Build deep credibility with senior finance stakeholders including CFOs, Controllers, and VPs of Finance as a trusted domain expert
- Mentor and coach other SEs on accounting domain knowledge and the craft of technical selling
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform product roadmap priorities. Partner closely with PMM and product to shape the future of the platform
- Develop and maintain reusable demo environments, technical collateral, and enablement materials for the broader team
Requirements
We are looking for a Senior SE who has operated at the highest level of technical selling, someone who can walk into a room with a CFO and own it, build the playbooks our team runs on, and help shape what world-class presales looks like at a company on the rise.
Qualifications
- 6-10+ years of total experience with 3 or more years as a customer-facing SE at an ERP or FP&A platform (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, or Pigment)
- Deep accounting and finance domain expertise with the ability to credibly converse with CFOs and Controllers from day one
- Proven track record independently running complex enterprise demos, POCs, and discovery
- Experience building or contributing to an SE function at a high-growth startup
- CPA or formal accounting background
- Familiarity with accounting close management or financial reporting workflows
