About the Role
At Midwest Applied Solutions, we deliver commercial HVAC rental solutions with speed and precision for both planned projects and 24/7 emergencies. As a Sales Engineer, you’ll coordinate submittals, equipment selection, pricing, and ship dates while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and interpret building plans and specifications
- Make equipment selections based on estimating and submittals
- Enter and manage orders to ensure timely fulfillment
- Execute projects on time and meet all deadlines
- Prepare financial reporting for managed projects
- Create and maintain job files for each project throughout its duration
- Coordinate jobsite requirements and provide technical support for contractor customers
- Manage multiple project schedules simultaneously
- Maintain communication with customers, building owners, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and field support staff
- Optimize projects through product selection, specifications, estimates, proposals, value engineering, and redesigns
- Develop and grow relationships with customers, contractors, project engineers, and manufacturers
- Determine project requirements, constraints, and sales team responsibilities to meet customer expectations
- Investigate concerns, implement corrective action, and communicate with customers and co-workers to maximize satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or 1–2 years of experience in HVAC, estimating, engineering, construction management, or contracting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of MEP consulting, architecture, design, CAD, general contracting, mechanical contracting, engineering, or construction industry (a plus)
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage high-volume projects in ambiguous situations
- Outstanding attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and excellent organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Environmental & Physical Demands
