Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Discovery: Perform technical discoveries against the environments of Qualified Sales Leads, surfacing pain points behind a prospect's stated ask and uncovering potential risks to effective service delivery.
  • Sales Artifact Creation: Assist in generating proposals and formal Statements of Work regarding the deployment and configuration of specific technical solutions, including but not limited to select services within M365 GCC and GCC-H environments.
  • Compliance Translator: Ask targeted questions to understand a customer's business and environment, connect what has been uncovered back to CMMC requirements, explain gaps in plain language, and architect solutions that close them.
  • Cross Department Collaboration: Effectively communicate with other departments within ISI when the supportability of a sale is in question, get clarification when necessary.
  • Support Effective Post-Sale Handoff: Document what has been uncovered through technical discovery as part of structured knowledge transfers with ISI's service delivery teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Sales Engineer or in an engineering role within an MSP, with familiarity in MSP economics and service delivery.
  • Familiarity with on-premises infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and Microsoft environments, with Microsoft 365 GCC and GCC High experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating in heavily regulated environments, with CMMC experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record in explaining technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Travel 5–10% for major opportunities and industry conferences.

Qualifications

  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should have lived in Microsoft environments and ideally have hands-on familiarity with the quirks of GCC and GCC High specifically, not just commercial M365.
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should have helped organizations move toward CMMC compliance and understand what a CMMC certification assessment demands.
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should be comfortable with being the person who tells a prospect the inconvenient truth when it's the right thing to do.

Skills

  • Registered Practitioner (RP): Can provide CMMC advisory and consulting services.
  • Certified CMMC Professional (CCP): Has command of the CMMC framework and assessment process.
  • Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA): Can bring assessor-level expertise in evaluating organizations against CMMC requirements.
  • AZ-104 — Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-700 — Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • AZ-500 — Azure Security Engineer Associate

Pay

Base range of $100,000–$125,000 salary with commission.

Schedule

Hybrid or remote flexibility.
