Sales Director
About the Role
The Sales Director drives the community’s sales efforts, develops and executes the quarterly marketing plan, reaches occupancy goals, and follows Century Park’s standards in accordance with all laws, regulations, and company policies. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- At least one year of successful sales experience (three years preferred)
- Senior living experience preferred
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel if necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license in current state with a satisfactory driving record per Century Park standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Outgoing, energetic personality with excellent listening and persuasion skills
Responsibilities
Administrative and Planning
- Plans, develops, executes, drives, and evaluates the community’s strategic marketing plan
- Maintains compliance with budget and labor/expense control using a spend-down sheet for department expenditures
- Ensures leads database, waitlist, and referral sources in the local market are accurate and current
- Ensures marketing and sales reports are accurate and timely
- Completes competitive analysis annually (or as needed) of local competitors
- Audits current residents to determine their previous residences before moving into the community
- Conducts demographic analysis to identify high concentrations of prospective residents in the local market
Sales and Marketing Focus
- Increases overall resident census and achieves specific occupancy targets
- Spends time outside the community identifying and cultivating relationships with referral sources
- Closes sales effectively with prospective residents and families
- Increases awareness of the community and Century Park in the local area
- Participates in local marketing events, health fairs, civic organization events, etc.
- Plans and hosts marketing and waitlist events
- Communicates upcoming marketing events to appropriate staff
- Develops, arranges, and provides customer-centered experience tours for inquiries
- Develops and oversees the inquiry follow-up process to convert leads into residents
- Participates in conference calls with other Sales Directors within the region and company
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruits, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises, and counsels the sales team
- Schedules department hours appropriately
- Exercises appropriate independent judgment
Additional Requirements
- Expert knowledge in the field of practice
- Ability to work with little supervision and make independent decisions when necessary
- Understanding of the urgency to build occupancy, gain referrals, and develop new business sources
- Ability to implement and interpret sales department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Excellent follow-through and follow-up with prospective and referral source leads
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills
- Effective networking, account management, and rapport-building skills
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understands and follows company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Park’s Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance training
