Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Development of Assigned customers/channels – Drive strategic growth initiatives and revenue expansion through selling new products into assigned retail grocery, natural, and other channels
- Broker Oversight & Management – Provide oversight of brokers in designated channels and regions, conducting performance reviews and strategy planning sessions
- New Business Development – Utilize market knowledge to identify and cultivate new business opportunities through prospecting, leads, and referrals
- Responsible for HQ accounts – Where applicable, ensure that all consumer and trade promotions negotiated at the national level are successfully executed at the local level
- Strategic Relationship Building – Develop and maintain strong relationships with key executive decision-makers at target accounts
- Sales Process Leadership – Oversee planning and execution for new business opportunities, driving contract negotiations and long-term partnerships
- Account & Contract Management – Ensure seamless execution of existing agreements, including renewals and customer expansion efforts
- Leverage Industry Insights & Collaboration – Use industry research and market trends to work to create data-driven solutions to assist new product sell-in
- Competitive & Market Analysis – Maintain a thorough understanding of Cedarlane’s portfolio, market trends, and competitor landscape
- Account Operations Support – Manage rebates, allowances, deductions, and receivables, while supporting customer service and order fulfillment as needed
Requirements
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- 7+ years sales experience within CPG industry including sales within fresh perishable categories including Deli, Meat, and/or Frozen foods. Branded and PL preferred
- Experience selling to regional and national grocery channel, Natural/Distributor accounts, preferably with experience selling cleaner ingredient, natural high quality food products
- Any Club, Food Service, eComm, Mass, DTC experience a bonus!
- Deep knowledge of the Western and US retail marketplace – experience with distributors, brokers, and key industry players
- Proven sales hunter – a proactive and driven sales professional with a track record of success
- Understanding and demonstrated use of data management systems, syndicated data, shopper/digital marketing literate
- Self-starter & Team Player – able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and broker resources
- Strong leadership & negotiation skills – experience managing broker relationships and executing strategic sales plans
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Leveraging relationships, sales presentation skills, negotiating and fostering mutually beneficial business partnerships with key retailers
- Perseverance, positive energy, creative, and flexible
- Able to work independently, while communicating well verbally and in writing with all stakeholders

- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate education and experience required
