Sales Development Representative - Brick City Capital
Leverage Companies is a dynamic real estate private equity platform on a mission to create millionaires through real estate. We operate a vertically integrated ecosystem and are scaling rapidly, building a world-class team committed to operational excellence, bold growth, and long-term impact. Brick City Capital, the lending platform of Leverage Companies, is a premier business-purpose lender specializing in Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) loans for residential investment properties, backed by institutional capital partners.
About the role
The Sales Development Representative is the first line of communication between Brick City Capital and mortgage brokers, wholesale partners, and real estate investors. This role owns the top of the funnel: prospecting, qualifying, and setting appointments for Loan Officers and Account Executives. As the first touchpoint, you set the tone for the entire sales cycle, evaluate account eligibility, provide pricing feedback, and explain product offerings. This is an ideal opportunity for a hungry, coachable salesperson looking to break into private lending, with a direct path to becoming a full Account Executive / Vice President.
Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume outbound outreach: 80–100 dials per day, plus email and LinkedIn to mortgage brokers, brokerage shops, wholesale partners, and real estate investors.
- Research and identify accounts that fit our ideal customer profile, prioritizing high-value shops with meaningful DSCR / Non-QM volume.
- Manage and nurture inbound leads from marketing campaigns and events follow-up.
- Consistently meet or exceed daily and weekly activity targets for calls, emails, and qualified appointments set.
- Qualify sales-qualified leads (SQLs), gathering key deal and account details to assess fit before handoff.
- Serve as the first line of defense for broker onboarding, evaluating account eligibility and qualifying new partners before they enter the pipeline.
- Provide pricing feedback to clients and explain available programs across DSCR, Bank Statement, Asset Depletion, and other Non-QM products.
- Set qualified appointments and warm-introduce prospects to the origination team, setting expectations correctly and preserving broker trust.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activity, contacts, and accounts in Salesforce (our CRM) from first dial through funding.
- Follow up persistently with warm prospects and reactivate accounts that have gone quiet.
- Collaborate closely with the origination and marketing teams to refine messaging, sharpen targeting, and improve conversion.
Requirements
- 1+ years in an SDR, inside sales, phone sales, or customer-facing role; mortgage, financial services, or real estate backgrounds especially encouraged.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and enthusiasm to spend the day on the phone.
- Experience with high-volume outbound calling; strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and coachable. Comfortable with cold outreach and rejection.
- Intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in real estate and lending; able to quickly learn loan program guidelines and communicate pricing and eligibility clearly.
- Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and prospecting tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, industry directories).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, real estate, or a related field.
- Prior experience selling into mortgage brokers, real estate investors, or the private / business-purpose lending space.
- Working knowledge of DSCR or Non-QM loan products.
- Experience with sales engagement platforms and a track record of hitting or exceeding activity and appointment quotas.
- Prior experience in a fast-growth lending or fintech environment.
Skills
- A demonstrated track record of winning; we never stop at "just enough".
- An insatiable eagerness to continuously learn and to be coached; we are lifelong learners.
- A strong entrepreneurial spirit; a burning passion for building something great out of nothing.
- A big vision for themselves and those around them; always striving to be the best version of ourselves.
- An unwavering sense of integrity; how one does anything is how one does everything.
Pay
The anticipated annual base cash compensation for this role is $40,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This role also has a variable cash compensation component, making the total on-target cash compensation from approximately $70,000 - $85,000+ per year.
