Job Summary
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) within our Commercial Markets Division is responsible for generating new business opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting efforts. This role partners closely with the Commercial Markets Sales team to identify target accounts, engage decision-makers through phone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and other channel outreach, and schedule qualified meetings that drive pipeline growth.
Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting activities through primarily phone calls, email campaigns, and LinkedIn messaging
- Generate qualified meetings and sales opportunities for the Commercial Markets Sales team
- Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers within prioritized markets and industries
- Conduct initial outreach and qualification conversations to assess fit, needs, and buying potential
- Support the development and maintenance of target account lists and customer targeting strategies
- Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within CRM
- Track outreach performance metrics and provide regular reporting on activity, meetings, and pipeline generation
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to refine messaging, campaigns, and target market strategies
- Utilize sales engagement tools, CRM platforms, and internal resources to maximize prospecting effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-3+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, lead generation, or outbound prospecting
- Prior experience with a CRM platform
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including multi-tasking skills
- Understanding and expertise in current business applications and technologies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in commercial real estate, energy services, facilities management, or related industries is a plus but not required
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
- This position operates in both office and field settings.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and keyboard.
- Required to travel to different locations and sometimes require dexterity for handling materials or product demonstrations; it may also involve prolonged periods of driving and being on the road.
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs., unassisted.
