Sales Development Representative
Funnel Leasing is a 'work from anywhere' U.S. SaaS company focused on revolutionizing the renter experience through cloud-based marketing and leasing software. We’re transforming the real estate industry with cutting-edge technology built, sold, and supported by a passionate team.
About the role
As a Sales Development Representative, you’ll drive Funnel’s new account acquisition engine by hunting for property management companies (50-200+ units) ready for change. You’ll build multi-threaded relationships across operations, property management, and marketing leaders, and book qualified discovery meetings with decision-makers. This role owns its territory, develops deep expertise in the multifamily buyer, and partners closely with Account Executives to close deals. There’s a clear path to move into a closing role as you grow. This is a non-exempt, hourly position reporting to the Vice President of Sales.
Responsibilities
- Build outbound campaigns via email, phone, and social to prospect into property management companies in your territory
- Identify and engage property managers, operations leaders, and marketing stakeholders—multi-threading is part of the motion
- Qualify opportunities using discovery frameworks; determine fit, urgency, and buying dynamics before booking meetings
- Book qualified meetings with property management executives and hand them to our Account Executive team
- Maintain rigorous Salesforce hygiene; keep your pipeline accurate, up-to-date, and predictable
- Partner with your Account Executives to understand what makes a good meeting and refine your qualification bar over time
- Contribute to sales motion strategy; test new messaging, tactics, and territory approaches with the team
- Support special projects, ad-hoc prospecting initiatives, or account research as needed
- Create a culture of continuous improvement and learning
- Foster collaboration within the team and across the company
- Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion
Requirements
- Prior success in outbound prospecting, new account acquisition, or hunter-based sales (SDR, BDR, field sales, account management with hunting responsibility, or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable with cold outreach via email and phone
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and sales engagement platforms
- Ability to manage a territory; track multiple prospects, manage cadences, and prioritize pipeline
- Coachable mindset; you want to learn, iterate, and improve your approach
- Resilience and tenacity; you accept rejection and stay focused on the next conversation
- Prior experience in multifamily, property management, or real estate technology (preferred)
- Familiarity with MEDDPICC or similar discovery frameworks (preferred)
- Experience prospecting into mid-market or enterprise accounts (multi-threaded, longer cycles) (preferred)
- Comfort with AI tools for prospecting, personalization, or research (preferred)
- Track record of hitting or exceeding pipeline/revenue targets (preferred)
- If located in the Greater Tampa Bay Area: ability to work in-office at our Tampa HQ most days (hybrid arrangement possible for the right candidate)
